Dense-vapor effects in compressible internal flows

Paradigmatic compressible one-dimensional flows provide insights regarding the loss mechanisms of fluid machinery components typical power and propulsion systems, like turbomachines heat exchangers. Their performance also depends on working fluid, thus, both molecular complexity thermodynamic state. Four flow configurations have been investigated, namely, Rayleigh Fanno flows, mixing two co-flowing streams, injection into a mainstream. It was found that Grüneisen parameter allows quantitative characterization influence losses. Moreover, dense vapor effects has evaluated assessed in terms other parameters. The analysis allowed quantification how, energy transferred as is converted kinetic internal and, entropy generated due to friction. In flow, at inlet channel must more for choke, depending complexity. Similarly, given value compressibility factor, determines choking point channel, higher its further downstream location. if subsonic are relevant, Mach number varies non-monotonically along channel.
